This peak is a grapevine to every trekker from different parts of the world. Nanda Devi Base Camp Trek is the sole route to trekkers to witness the twin peaks-Nand Devi and Nanda Devi East ,after the closure of Nanda Devi Inner Sanctuary.The route to the Nanda Devi True base Camp passes through the Incredible  Milam Valley & through several ancient villages, alpine meadows and glaciated tracks. The trek to Nanda Devi East Base Camp takes you off at an altitude of 4,200 meters. Nanda Devi Base Camp Trek gives you  the magnificent view of Rishi Parvat at 6,692 meters, Hardeol at 7,151 meters and Trishul I at 7,074 meters.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival at Munsiyari

Munsiari is connected to Kathgodam near Nainital via Road Link.On arrival check in to hotel for overnight stay

Day 02: Munsyari - Lilam (1850 M/6068 Ft)(14 Kms/ 5-6 Hrs)

Day 2 Rise up Early and start your day 1 trek to Lilam via darkot. From Darkot the trek descents down to the Gori Ganga and continues descending until you arrive at River Jimighat. The Trek starts ascending to to Lilam. On arrival setup camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 03: Lilam - Bugdiar (2500 Mts/8200 Ft)(12 Kms/5-6 Hrs)

Rise Up Early. In the morning start your trek up to Bugdiar. Enroute cross over dense Utees Forest and other alpine trees. Continue your walk upto Bugdiar for a while and crossing Nain Singh Top and Riargiri. Budgiyar Grass land offers you close look into the local Shepherd's life & one might spot flocks of sheep and goats at the meadows of Bugdiar. On arrival set up campsite. Dinner and overnight stay in tents.

Day 04: Bugdiar- Martoli (3430 Mts/11250 Ft)(14 Kms/5-6 Hrs) Via - Rilkot

On Day 04 Resume trekking along the Gori Ganga through series of narrow gorges. This day's trail passes through gorges and meadows leading to Railkot. The trek continues to the village Martoli situated at the edge of Lwan Gad Valley. Overnight stay in tents

Day 05: Martoli to Naspanpatta (12kms)

Day 05 head over to Meadows of Naspanpatta. This day's trail is full of thrill and one crosses a series of moraine fields and famous meadows of Sartol Kharak (3650 M). Overnight in Camps.

Day 06: Naspanpatta to Nanda Devi Base Camp (12kms)

Day 06 head over to Nanda Devi Base Camp.

Day 07: Trek to Advance Base Camp & return to Naspanpatta, (15kms)

In the morning will set out a trek for Nanda Devi Advance Base Camp. Explore the terrain and return back in the base camp for dinner & overnight stay.

Day 08: Naspanpatta to Rilkot via Martoli (17kms)

Trace back the same route back to Martoli

Day 09: Rilkot to Bogudiyar (15kms)

Trace Back the same route

Day 10: Lilam To Munsiyari (9kms)

Head back to Munsiari.

Question 1- Is this Trek Safe for Amateurs

Some Degree of Fitness is required to Complete this trek. An experience into High Altitude Trekking Expeditions is required and can safely complete this trek with in the designated time.

Question 4 -How will we deal with altitude acclimation?At higher altitudes

The kind we experience frequently on our treks- your cardiac and pulmonary systems are affected by lower oxygen density. Our bodies must adjust to the mountain elevation gradually, or we can become ill. Physical symptoms can range from general breathing difficulties all the way to acute mountain sickness (altitude sickness, soroche, or "the bends"). To avoid altitude-related maladies, we pace our treks appropriately and incorporate acclimatization days throughout the itinerary. There are points throughout many treks during which trekkers may choose to either tackle additional hikes/day trips or rest and relax as their bodies demand.

Question 7- What physical criteria will ensure I'm fit enough to trek?

Good overall fitness, flexibility, and healthy will ensure you trek safely and comfortably. Those with acute or chronic health conditions impacting their stamina, range of motion, coordination, or balance may have difficulty completing the trek. If you are in doubt about your own physical readiness, consult a physician well in advance of booking your trip! General hiking experience and comfort with the idea of multi-day hiking will also ensure you are 100% ready to trek!

Question 7- What do I need to know about sun protection?

It may seem counter-intuitive, but your skin is in more danger of sun damage on the mountains than while at the beach! The sun's intensity increases dramatically as we rise in altitude, and fresh snow reflects exponentially more UV rays than does the sand. You will need to protect your skin with clothing and sunblock. A sunblock specifically for mountain conditions is recommended. If you wear prescription eyeglasses its recommend that you get your prescription fitted to sunglasses.

Question 8-What happens if I get sick or injured while trekking?

We take all possible precautions to proactively ensure the safety and wellness of our trekkers, but rest assured that our guides are trained and experienced in dealing with emergencies. Each guide is trained in first aid. In the case of altitude sickness, you will immediately be taken to a lower altitude. If necessary, your guide will rescue you to the nearest Sattelite town.

We ensure the travel safety of all our trekking guests, both male and female. Indian himalayas, on the whole, is both very safe and welcoming of foreign visitors. We have longstanding, strong relationships with the lodges we frequent, and know them to be safe and reliable. In addition our guides are consistently mindful of all guests' whereabouts while trekking. We travel in small groups, all the better to easily maintain continual contact.
