Bhrigu (4240 mts.) is a prominent lake of Kullu region, located at right of Rohtang pass. Legend holds that Bhrigu Rishi meditated here and many local gods of the Kullu region took a dip in its sacred water, most prominent among them is Guru Vashisht, who traveled to the lake at least once in two or three years cycle. forest of Fir, oak and higher altitude white Oak surrounds Gulaba from where trek starts. Steep ups and downs can make you a bit tired but are equally rewarding because of its breathtaking views.
Day 1 Drive from Manali to the meadows of Gulaba. The views of the upper kullu valley from here are simply spectacular. The trail to the lake follows the east ward route and the climb is through the lush forest of Deodar, numerous streams until you reach Kothi Theli in few hours.Overnight at Kothi Theli campsite.
Have fresh Breakfast and proceed towards the lake steadily as the altitude can make you a little breathless.On your trail cross a mountain stream and then keep climbing until you cross a mountain ridge beyond which lies the Bhrigu lake. Reach the Bhirgu lake by afternoon and set the camp.
After spending a night amidst impressing mountain ranges and a pristine Himalayan lake proceed towards Vashisht Theli crossing meadows, mountain ridges and lush forest.The highlight of the trail is Pandu Ropa(Rice fields of Pandvas), which lies just before you start entering the ridge of Vashisht Ridge.Camp overnight.
Day 4 follow your trail back from where you started.The day has a steep descent to the village of Vashisht. The descend offer a breath taking view of the entire Kullu valley. Walk on the trail until you pass through pine forest and slowly emerged into apple orchards and finally reach Vashisht hot spring and then head over to Manali.
